Thousands of Australians each year are setting up their own self managed super fund (SMSF).

Why? Simple!

They want more control, greater transparency and better performance, all for a lot less. It's not too much to ask is it?

As our name suggests, FreeSuperReview.com.au is totally free and there is no obligation to proceed. You will receive a simple, easy to understand report that compares the fees and performance of your current super fund with that of a self managed super fund (SMSF).

At FreeSuperReview.com.au, we will also put you in contact with an accredited investment advisor. Not a salesperson in a call centre, or a planner at one of the big four banks, but a pro-active investment advisor. Someone who knows your name, your investment objectives and your financial goals.

If you decide to proceed with a SMSF, your advisor will assist with all the paperwork and recommend a cost effective service to deal with the day to day administration. They can also recommend a qualified accountant if required, who can manage the auditing and tax return for your SMSF.

SMSF's aren't for everyone, but FreeSuperReview.com.au can help find out if one is appropriate for you. If not, your advisor will let you know the alternatives.

So if you are tired of hidden fees, poor service and not knowing where your super is invested, apply for a free super review now. It will only take a few minutes, there's no obligation to proceed and it's FREE!

smsf Facts

SMSF's now represent the largest proportion of the super industry, accounting for 31.9%. In other words,
1 in 3 super funds are self managed.

A SMSF is a fund established for between 1 and 4 people with the fund being controlled by trustees/directors who are also the members.

Members can also decide how the fund will operate and what investments the fund will invest in.

SMSF's must be established for the sole purpose of providing benefits to fund members on retirement, or to their dependants in the case of a member's death before retirement. This is referred to as the Sole Purpose Test.

A SMSF can also have a company trustee (known as a corporate trustee). Each director of the trustee company must be a fund member, and each fund member must be a director of the company.

A SMSF can accept employer and personal contributions, including member non-concessional contributions, subject to contribution limits and restrictions.

A SMSF enables members to organise and select life and total and permanent disablement insurance, which is paid for by the SMSF and claimed as a tax deduction, making the cost of insurance more tax effective.

A common myth is that SMSF are expensive to set up and manage. A recent ATO study has found that on average, SMSF are more cost effective than standard managed superannuation funds.
